Nox Light 1.1

The previous-generation fast model — retiring soon

Light 1.1 is the previous-generation model behind everyday Nox conversations, tuned for low latency and concise answers. It is being retired: Nox 1.3 Vela is its successor on every plan, and Light stays available under “More models” during the transition.

Light 1.1 was the default model of the Nox 1.1 generation, built around low latency: short, focused answers organised so the main point comes first. It remains exactly that — a previous-generation fast model — while the 1.3 generation replaces it.

It supports photo input, handled automatically on attach, and its answers draw on the same Nox health library as the rest of the family. It does not have live web access; it answers from trained knowledge and the health library only.

Like every Nox model, Light runs behind Leo, the deterministic safety layer whose measured recall and false-positive rate are published from a generated evaluation. The safety gate does not change with the model's age or speed.

Light 1.1 is now a legacy model on its way to retirement. Nox 1.3 Vela is its successor — the same latency class on a newer engine with a reasoning pass and a larger context window — and Vela is available on every plan, including Free. During the transition Light remains selectable under the “More models” toggle, but new conversations default to Vela.

Capabilities

  • Low-latency, concise answers with the main point first
  • Photo understanding — attached photos are read automatically
  • Backed by the same Nox health library as the rest of the family
  • Runs behind the same measured Leo safety layer as every Nox model

Model details

  • Generation — Nox 1.1 — previous generation
  • Reasoning — None — answers directly without a reasoning pass
  • Latency — Optimized for low-latency, near-instant replies
  • Photo understanding — Yes — attach photos as usual; Nox handles them automatically
  • Live web access — No — draws on Nox's trained knowledge and health library
  • Safety layer — Runs behind Leo, Nox's deterministic red-flag detector, on every message
  • Status — Legacy — retiring; Nox 1.3 Vela is its successor
  • Available on — Free, Pro, and MAX (under “More models” during the transition)
